Miles Russell’s Remarkable Achievement at the Korn Ferry Tour Event

Miles Russell made history by becoming the youngest player to make a cut at a Korn Ferry Tour event. However, his accomplishments did not stop there; Russell exceeded expectations by finishing in a tie for 20th place at 14 under par after a final-round score of 4-under 66 at the LECOM Suncoast Classic in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

The impressive top-25 finish guarantees Russell a spot in the upcoming Korn Ferry event, the Veritek Bank Championship in Arlington, Texas. In addition, Russell has now secured the title of the youngest player to achieve a top-25 finish in a PGA-sanctioned event, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.

Reflecting on his performance, Russell expressed his gratitude and excitement, describing the week as “awesome” and “a blast.” He acknowledged the supportive environment he encountered during the tournament, emphasizing the kindness and assistance he received from fellow players and organizers. Despite his young age, Russell maintained composure and focus, delivering pivotal shots at crucial moments throughout the event.

While Russell will not be eligible to officially join the PGA Tour’s feeder circuit as a member until 2027, his exceptional showing at the LECOM Suncoast Classic has undoubtedly captured the attention of the golfing world. His previous achievements, including being the youngest recipient of the AJGA Boys Junior Player of the Year award, further underscore his talent and potential in the sport.

Notable highlights from Russell’s career include a remarkable victory at the Junior PGA Championship, where he claimed a seven-stroke win, as well as a three-stroke triumph at the Junior Players. These accomplishments have positioned Russell as a rising star in the realm of junior golf.
