Mental health app Innerworld has introduced a new membership plan known as Membership Plus, led by licensed therapists.
Within this membership plan, users have the opportunity to join Innercircle, a feature that offers four therapist-led skills groups each month. Innercircle is crafted to provide an in-depth support network at a reduced cost compared to traditional therapy sessions.
Co-founded by the renowned multi-platinum singer-songwriter and mental health advocate Jewel, Innerworld offers unparalleled access to mental health tools and resources around the clock.
Founded by Noah Robinson, who also holds the position of CEO, Innerworld enhances mental health care through Cognitive Behavioral Immersion (CBI), an innovative psychological intervention method pioneered by therapists, including Robinson, at Vanderbilt University.
The company stated that CBI has exhibited effectiveness in addressing conditions such as depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. This is achieved by allowing users to engage using anonymous avatars and participate in group sessions guided by trained professionals and therapists. Recently, Innerworld secured a $2 million grant from the National Institute of Mental Health to further explore how CBI tools aid in alleviating symptoms of depression and anxiety.
In addition to Innercircle, Membership Plus members gain full access to Innerworld’s complete range of services, including 100 weekly peer-to-peer sessions led by trained guides, constant access to a monitored community, and the utilization of their unique Cognitive Behavioral Immersion tools.
With the introduction of Membership Plus, Innerworld now provides three membership tiers – free, membership, and membership plus – catering to diverse budgets and needs.
Evolution and Expansion
All members, regardless of their chosen tier, benefit from Innerworld’s extensive selection of peer-to-peer support groups overseen by guides proficient in CBI, along with all community-based activities. Therapists and guides employed by Innerworld undergo rigorous training to learn the tools of Cognitive Behavioral Immersion, ensuring that users are equipped with proven skills developed by the platform.
Collaborative Endeavors
Innerworld recently revealed a pioneering collaboration with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) to enhance Veterans’ overall well-being and cultivate a sense of community and belonging.
This collaboration is being rolled out across six Veterans Administration medical centers (VAMCs) and Veterans Health Care Systems (VHCSs) in Houston, Detroit, New Orleans, Orlando, Palo Alto, and the greater Gulf Coast. A total of 100 Meta Quest headsets, preloaded with the Innerworld app, are being distributed to these locations, offering Veterans an immersive and secure environment to engage in support groups and access Innerworld’s established mental health tools and resources.
Veteran members have the opportunity to partake in all virtual programming, including Veteran-specific sessions, and may choose to become paid, trained guides to facilitate these meetings.
Acclaim and Recognition
Jewel, commenting on the addition of group sessions with licensed therapists to Innerworld, expressed excitement, stating, “It’s our mission to ensure that anyone in need of mental health care can access it. I am proud that we can offer group skills sessions at such an affordable cost.”
Innerworld has garnered national media attention for its innovative approach to combating the global mental health crisis and addressing the national shortage of therapists. The platform was recognized as the Most Innovative Mental Health Platform by the 2024 Global Health & Pharma Awards.
