Developers Can Compete in Gemini API Developer Contest at Google I/O Conference

Google made a significant announcement today at the I/O conference, introducing its Gemini API developer contest. This competition offers developers the opportunity to compete for cash prizes reaching up to $300,000. The grand prize for the best overall app is a unique custom electric 1981 DeLorean, giving developers a chance to win an exciting and exclusive reward.

About the Custom-Built DeLorean

The custom DeLorean vehicle is a creation of the car restoration company DeLorean Midwest, commissioned by Google. Originally manufactured in 1981 and rumored to have fewer than 5000 original miles, this vehicle underwent significant modifications. The engine and drivetrain were replaced with components from the Tesla Model 3, resulting in what is now considered the world’s fastest DeLorean. With impressive performance statistics such as a 12.26-second quarter-mile time at 111 MPH and a 4.10-second zero-to-sixty time, this vehicle is truly a unique and high-speed adaptation.

Despite the modifications for electric functionality, DeLorean Midwest made sure to preserve the original interior and details of the vehicle. The custom DeLorean boasts a range of approximately 200-260 miles, aligning with modern electric vehicle standards.
