Reopening the Case for Biden’s Senate Records

Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation recently initiated legal action by petitioning the Delaware Supreme Court to revisit a crucial case involving the release of President Joe Biden’s Senate records. This move came in response to revelations by Special Counsel Robert Hur, which exposed misleading information provided by the University of Delaware.

The University of Delaware has adamantly refused to disclose Biden’s records, asserting that the documents will remain sealed until two years following Biden’s retirement from public office. A statement from a school representative indicated that the exhaustive collection of former Vice President Biden’s senatorial papers is still undergoing processing, with numerous items yet to be cataloged. The entire archive will remain inaccessible to the public until the specified timeframe elapses.

Previous Legal Battle and Current Challenges

Last year, the Delaware Supreme Court upheld the University of Delaware’s position and blocked the release of Joe Biden’s Senate records, as reported by The Daily Caller News Foundation. Judicial Watch’s President, Tom Fitton, emphasized the need for Congressional intervention, highlighting the significant public interest in accessing these vital documents. Fitton’s assertion underscores the importance of transparency and accountability in releasing the records for scrutiny.

One of the key reasons for Biden’s reluctance to unseal his senate records is the existence of a sexual assault complaint filed by Tara Reade in 1993. Reade has persistently called for Biden to make his 36 years of senatorial records public, which are currently inaccessible and securely stored at the University of Delaware.

Special Counsel Findings and Call for Transparency

Special Counsel Robert Hur recently released a comprehensive 345-page report detailing Joe Biden’s classified documents scandal. The report revealed that classified documents belonging to Biden were discovered at the University of Delaware, raising concerns about the utilization of taxpayer funds in managing his senatorial records.

Hur’s report highlighted the discovery of numerous marked classified documents in Biden’s Senate-era papers, contradicting previous affirmations by the University of Delaware that no taxpayer funds were involved in processing the records. These findings have prompted Judicial Watch to intensify its efforts in compelling the University of Delaware to disclose Biden’s Senate records.

Judicial Watch’s Legal Filing

In its recent filing, Judicial Watch outlined discrepancies regarding the University of Delaware’s handling of Biden’s Senate records. The filing revealed evidence suggesting that the University misinformed the courts to conceal Biden’s papers, sparking further scrutiny and demands for transparency.

Michael Bastasch, editor-in-chief for the Daily Caller News Foundation, expressed concerns over the University’s alleged deception and called for a reexamination of the case. Tom Fitton reiterated the need for the court to investigate the University of Delaware’s actions, emphasizing the significance of the Hur report’s findings.

As the legal battle escalates, the quest for accountability and access to vital information remains paramount in ensuring transparency and upholding public trust.
