On the other hand, Perplexity AI is strategically incorporating advertising into its platform to drive additional revenue. Despite aiming for unbiased responses, the platform is exploring various advertising options to engage with its reportedly 10 million active monthly users.

Perplexity AI, launched by a consortium of developers from prominent tech companies, emphasizes its role as an “answer engine” rather than a conventional chatbot. As the platform considers introducing advertisements, it prioritizes user experience by ensuring that ads do not precede responses or influence answers through paid promotions.

Instead, Perplexity AI plans to develop ad products that seamlessly integrate with user interactions, potentially leveraging related questions to organically integrate brand influences. Notably, advertising implementation remains speculative, with no definitive timeline for product deployment.

While the Pro tier subscription currently necessitates account registration, it remains unclear whether this premium service will eliminate or reduce ad exposure. Nevertheless, the platform continues to evolve its offerings, including enhanced AI features and robust search capabilities.
