Saga Launches New Game Publishing Division
At the Game Developers Conference, Saga, a layer-1 blockchain network, unveiled its latest venture – Saga Origins. This newly established game publishing division marks a significant milestone for the company as they expand their reach into the gaming industry. With a focus on providing comprehensive support for game developers, including user acquisition, community building, and promotional activities, Saga Origins aims to revolutionize the way games are brought to market.
While no specific titles have been announced for Saga Origins, the company is currently showcasing network games like Rogue Nation and Another World at the ongoing GDC event. According to a released statement, Saga Origins prides itself on being the “first and only layer-1 Web3 game publisher,” a title that sets it apart from existing layer-2 publishers such as Immutable in the Ethereum ecosystem.
Rebecca Liao, co-founder, and CEO of Saga, expressed her enthusiasm for Saga Origins, describing it as a “love letter to the developers building games in Web3.” Emphasizing the platform’s commitment to bridging the gap between developers and users, Liao highlighted the potential for Saga Origins to offer innovative and boundary-pushing gaming experiences to consumers.
Mainnet Launch and Airdrop Initiatives
Aside from the announcement of Saga Origins, the company also shared its plans for the upcoming mainnet launch scheduled for April. Following a recent airdrop claim initiative, which rewarded participants from play-to-airdrop competitions across various networks, including Avalanche and Polygon, Saga is gearing up for a significant milestone with the mainnet release.
Noteworthy beneficiaries of the airdrop include DeFi token stakers on different networks and holders of popular NFTs like the Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks. Eligible participants can claim their airdrop allocations ahead of the mainnet launch, signaling an exciting period of growth and development for Saga in the coming months.
