Trump’s Gun License Revoked by NYPD
Former President Donald Trump is facing the possibility of having his gun license revoked by the New York City Police Department. A senior police official informed CNN about this upcoming action, citing concerns about Trump’s legal status.
The NYPD received two of the three pistols Trump was licensed to carry on March 31, 2023. The third gun listed on his license was reportedly “lawfully moved to Florida.” However, after Trump’s recent conviction on 34 felonies, there are questions about his compliance with state and federal gun laws, especially if he still possesses that third gun in Florida.
CNN reached out to Trump’s representatives for clarification on whether he still has a gun in Florida. If he does, it could lead to significant legal repercussions, including violations of federal gun laws similar to those Hunter Biden is currently facing trial for in Delaware.
Trump’s Violation of Gun Laws
As a convicted felon, Trump is prohibited from owning a gun. The prospect of him retaining firearms raises concerns, particularly given his perceived instability. The idea that someone with Trump’s history could possess firearms is alarming.
Considering Trump’s track record of non-compliance with government requests, there is a real possibility that he is violating federal gun laws by retaining a firearm after being convicted of multiple felonies.
