Fantasy Top Game Experiences Surge in Engagement Following Major Update

Following a recent significant update, Fantasy Top, a popular social media game that has captured the attention of Crypto Twitter, has witnessed a notable increase in player engagement. The official Twitter account for Fantasy Top recently revealed an array of exciting developments for the game’s enthusiasts. These updates include a revamped scoring system, a substantial prize pool, and the introduction of a newcomer-friendly tournament. Perhaps most notably, the game is set to welcome over 40 new NFT heroes, including prominent figures such as crypto-degen-turned-boxer Barneytheboi, the mastermind behind the Sappy Seals NFT collection wab.eth, and the pseudonymous crypto investor LilMoonLambo.

Fantasy Top operates on the Ethereum layer-2 network Blast, where crypto influencers are transformed into NFT cards known as heroes. These influencers receive a portion of the trading volume generated by their cards, as well as a share of the total revenue from pack sales. Players can acquire these cards to participate in fantasy football-style tournaments against one another.

Over the past 24 hours, the trading volume on Fantasy Top has surged by more than 51%, accompanied by a 14% increase in the number of buyers, as reported by DappRadar, a platform that tracks NFT collections. The creator of the game, known under the pseudonym Travis Bickle, announced that Fantasy Top has garnered an impressive 67,000 active users within the past week, with a total of 140,000 users since its launch on May 1.

Addressing Bot Influence

Shortly after the game’s release, concerns arose as influencers raised grievances about artificial inflation of their numbers by players, which in turn affected their personal social media objectives. In response to this issue, a new scoring system has been introduced with the goal of mitigating the influence of bots that were artificially boosting account engagement. Additionally, the original heroes’ statistics have been slightly adjusted, and frequent posts will no longer be at a disadvantage within the game.

Exciting Tournaments and Valuable Cards

On Tuesday, May 14, Fantasy Top will kick off its second major tournament, offering a prize of 333,333 Blast Gold. If analyst projections regarding the price of Blast Gold hold true, the total prize pool for this week’s competition could surpass $3.3 million, exceeding the rewards from the previous tournament.

For players who may not be ready for top-tier competition, a “common cards only” tournament is scheduled for Thursday, May 16. This tournament will feature a yet-to-be-disclosed “additional tweak” aimed at fostering fairness among participants. The prize pool for this specific event is yet to be revealed.

Some NFT cards within the game have already commanded significant valuations. For example, a legendary Jenn card was sold for 13.37 ETH (equivalent to $40,000), while a common Travis Bickle card fetched 0.49 ETH ($1,495). As a result of these high-value transactions, the game has witnessed a noticeable increase in cumulative revenue, as evidenced by data from a Flipside Crypto dashboard.
