Puffverse Transitions to Ethereum Ronin Network
Puffverse, a unique gaming project centered around NFT characters minted on Binance’s BNB Chain, made an announcement on Wednesday regarding its plans to migrate its collections to the Ethereum gaming network Ronin. In addition to this migration, the project also revealed its intention to launch a play-to-earn party game called PuffGo on the network.
The migration news was accompanied by the revelation of a $3 million funding round, with the metaverse investment giant Animoca Brands leading the way. Other contributors to this funding round include Ronin creator Sky Mavis, as well as Arcane Group, Spartan Group, Foresight Ventures, HashKey Capital, and Xu Family Office. This financial backing will be instrumental in supporting the development of Puffverse’s flagship party game, PuffGo, and the establishment of a cloud gaming platform designed to facilitate the creation of personalized metaverse experiences.
PuffGo, described as a party game similar to the popular Web2 title Fall Guys but with play-to-earn elements integrated, will be the first game released by the project on Ronin. Co-founder and COO of Puffverse, Lya L, shared that the decision to transition the project to the Ronin blockchain was strategic and aligned with the goal of enhancing accessibility for both Web2 and Web3 users.
The multiplayer nature of PuffGo will allow players to earn rewards while engaging in gameplay. The title also offers features such as user-generated content creation and upcoming AI tools that will enable the crafting of game maps and metaverses through text commands.
Puffverse has scheduled a snapshot of NFT holders on the BNB Chain for April 29, following which it plans to airdrop the Ronin version of the assets to the corresponding wallets. Furthermore, the project aims to introduce a PUFF token on Ronin later in the year, alongside a new collection of NFTs.
