Emmanuel Macron Embraces ‘End of Life’ Legislation

French President Emmanuel Macron, once a Rothschild banker and now considered a globalist poster boy, has recently made a significant move towards what he refers to as an ‘end of life’ bill. This decision follows his earlier controversial step of enshrining abortion rights in the French constitution, signaling a broader cultural shift towards the normalization of death in Western societies.

Macron’s support for the new legislation, which he terms as ‘help to die,’ marks a radical departure from traditional views on the sanctity of life. The proposed bill aims to introduce measures that would allow medically assisted dying under strict conditions. Macron’s government plans to submit a draft of the bill to parliament as early as May, joining other countries like Switzerland, Belgium, and the Netherlands in offering similar end-of-life options.

In an interview with the Liberation newspaper, Macron emphasized that the proposed legislation should not be classified as euthanasia or assisted suicide but rather as ‘help to die.’ He outlined that the criteria for accessing this assistance would be rigorously evaluated by a medical team to ensure the decision’s correctness. Only adults with a medium-term life prognosis threat, such as those in the final stages of cancer, would be eligible for such assistance, according to Macron.

The decision to support this legislation comes after a group of 184 French citizens, supposedly randomly appointed, deliberated on the issue and expressed their preference for allowing some form of assistance to die for those who desire it, with a significant majority (76%) in favor.

Despite facing numerous social and economic challenges, Macron seems intent on pushing this controversial agenda, potentially risking further backlash from an already disenfranchised electorate. His party’s declining popularity in polls, trailing behind the conservative Rassemblement National by more than 10 points, underscores the political gamble Macron is taking by prioritizing divisive issues like end-of-life legislation over more pressing national concerns.
