Donald Trump Jr. was called out on twitter by the Anti-Defamation League for making what is referred to as “Holocaust jokes.”
Trump’s son referenced gas chambers in a Philadelphia radio interview when he stated the media has been shielding Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee as they attempted to force Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders from the primary race previously this year.
The Jewish civil rights group replied by tweeting that it hopes Trump retracts his comment.
The Republican presidential nominee’s son was as well lately criticized for posting a picture on Instagram that had himself, his dad and other Republicans besides “Pepe the Frog”, an emblem of the alt-right movement.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign was fast to react to the on the remarks of younger Trump. Clinton’s Director of Jewish Outreach Sarah Bard called stated they showed “just how reckless, heartless, and divisive the Trump campaign is.”
“The bottom line is this, hateful references to the Holocaust are never acceptable, particularly from a presidential campaign,” Bard stated in an announcement.
The Trump campaign stated the candidate’s son wasn’t making a reference to the Holocaust.
“Don Jr . was apparently talking on capital punishment to make the case that the media continues to take words out of context so as to serve as the propaganda arm of the Hillary Clinton campaign, a thing that has only become worse as Trump’s poll figures have bettered,” Jason Miller , the senior communications advisor of the campaign, stated in a statement.
