Donovan Mitchell displayed an outstanding performance, contributing 29 points, while Evan Mobley showcased a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Cleveland Cavaliers triumphed over the top-seeded Boston Celtics with a commanding score of 118-94, evening their second-round playoff series.
After a significant defeat two nights prior, where Mitchell scored 33 points but received minimal assistance, the Cavaliers took control in the third quarter and responded with a resounding win. In a remarkable display, Mitchell netted 16 points in the third quarter, opening the fourth quarter with three consecutive baskets, including a spectacular 28-foot, banked 3-pointer that left him shrugging his shoulders in self-assurance while backpedaling on defense.
While Jayson Tatum managed to score 25 points for the Boston Celtics and Jaylen Brown added 19 points, Derrick White, who notably contributed 25 points in Game 1 that led to the Celtics' comfortable 120-95 victory, struggled with just 10 points, missing seven out of his eight 3-point attempts.
